Box 6, folders B through R of this collection contain an expansion of Francis Morris Sedgwick's 1934 manuscript,
a copy of which is viewable in the Books section here in the Sedgwick.org North America Library.
The manuscript had grown to over 600 pages, some Hubert's work, but many obviously still not changed from
Francis's work. I would consider this manuscript, called the "Keybook" by the cataloguer,
to be the most important single document in the collection.
It contains much data which has never been published.
As cataloged, folders M through Q contain the sheets concerning the descendants of Deacon Benjamin Sedgwick, which Hubert had further expanded to become his 1961 book, which is also in the Books section. Because the book has been published, is available here, and is more complete than the manuscript, I scanned from those folders only the few pages in Folder Q that include photographs. As soon as I can, I will make an index for these pages, which will be searchable. Until then, the best online key to the numbering system is the Nmaes Index to the manuscript A Genealogy of the Sedgwick Family in America since 1635 which appears in the books section here at Sedgwick.org. Pick up the Sedgwick Number from persons who exist in this index and use it to guide you in your searches here. I will add a more complete index as soon as possible. |
