Daniel Sedgwick [Edward Sedgwick / Emma Rose] ![]() Julia Smith [Cornelius Smith / Sarah Pate] Census records: Wife Julia:Born in Louisiana, Daniel Sedgwick move with his parents to Goliad County, Texas. He and Julia Smith were married there and had a daughter, but Julia did not stay with him. Since Daniel and Julia appear in the 1870 census separate, each with their parents, and daughter Mary was born in 1869, family members believe that Daniel and Julia must have been married in 1868 and separated by 1870. Mary's grandchildren said that she was eleven when her father died. After 1870, Julia's parents moved to Atascosa County, and she went with them. There she married James T Milligan. She moved with him, leaving daughter Mary with her parents. Julia must have had a hard life; by 1900 she was widowed from her fourth husband James Hennes, and only three of her six children were still alive. Children:
