Washington P Sedwick [Thomas Sedwick / Katie Kauffman]11b,13 Edinburg was included in Mercer County when it was formed from part of Allegheny, March 12, 1800. It became part of Lawrence County when it was formed from parts of Beaver and Mercer, April 5, 1849. Elizabeth Kiner [parents unknown] Census records: Elizabeth appears:Not much is known of known of Washington P Sedwick, but it has been established that he loved the church; he donated an acre of land in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, for the building of a church.14 Although recent investigations have failed to find any record of it,14 the biography of his son-in-law Adam Kline McQuilling said he was "a Methodist minister"3, and Kathleen McQuilling, a great-grand-daughter, has told me that he was a "circuit-riding preacher." Incidentally, the church was still standing in 1998. Here is an aerial photo of it in 1993. Washington's widow Elizabeth and most of their sons and daughters moved from Pennsylvania to Mercer County, Illinois, with son Daniel W Sedwick leading the way in 1855.2 Children:
