Weller C Sedgwick [Dewitt Clinton Sedgwick / Unis Pentecost] Jessie Beatrice Miller [parents unknown] Census Records: Orphan children:Weller C Sedgwick served in World War II the 65th CO US Coastal Artillery. In his WWI Draft Registration, executed June 1917, Weller gives his birth date as June 21, 1890, and describes himself as tall, medium build, blue eyes, light hair, a self-employed farmer of Anderson Township, Clark, Illinois, with dependent wife and child. Weller's widow Beatrice Sedgwick was awarded a military widow's pension (date illegible), but the children show up in an orphanage in 1930. Did she die, also? Starting there in 1943, he was a biology and physics teacher, company commandant, athletic coach, Commandant of Cadets, and Dean of Faculty until The Manlius School merged with Pebble Hill in 1970, when he was given the title of Dean of Students of the Manlius Pebble Hill School. In 1973, he was named Headmaster and served in this capacity until his retirement in 1975. After is death, the school published a remembrance of him in their Fall 2003 "Reflections" magazine. Lee Sedgwick had a son named Dean Lance Sedgwick, born 1943, Syracuse,Onondaga, New York.2g Owen Sedgwick had daughter Barbara Sedgwick.2e Charles Leo Sedgwick had son Charles Weller Sedgwick b 1958.2f |
